Yep, that's right. This 6 GHz, 65nm computer CMOS SOI processor is now under production, as Sony said it would do by 2007. PS3 fans, your moment has arrived: Sony began the mass production of the 65 nm CELL processor, although European customers should know that it is uncertain whether the new CELL chip will be slapped on their PS3s for the launch. Maybe it's for a newer PS3 model...
But like it was said before, the chip is cheaper to produce than the 90 nm version inside all PS3's out now. And it's relatively cooler. Does this mean it will be cheaper? Probably not, seeing Sony's PS3 sales since launch. But hey, as long as it's cooler. Oh and the CELL isn't just for the PS3. It will be inserted in a few more Sony and Toshiba products as well.

пожалуй ПС3 стоит ещё подождать

But if SplitFish is true to its PR word, Rumble will be yesterday's news. The guys behind EdgeFX claim they've developed their tech into something low-powered, generates "meaningful" sensory force feedback, and can be imbedded into the SIXAXIS, or so they say. SensorFX.
SplitFish plans to market SensorFX in two flavors: one as an add-on to existing SIXAXIS, to be plugged into the controller's USB plug (don't you guys mean Mini-USB port?), and one that can be built into the controller itself (okay, that's for Sony or 3rd party accessory manufacturers to work on). The system will also work in two modes - one for games that already have force feedback built in (probably for an accessory paired with the game, such as steering wheels), and one which relies on motion-sensing and other controller inputs to trigger the tech's tactile feedback.
