Сравнение мультиплатформенных игр

ЕА :D
  • Rich wants to wait for final code instead of using this examination as a final impression.
  • Not quite "Next-gen today" but still doing a lot with its visual tech.
  • Unexpected loading times, such as entering and exiting a corridor area.
  • Visual parity save for some LODs.
  • 1800p checkerboarding seems to be on all 3 platforms but requires more investigation by DF, including PC.
  • Framerate drops across both platforms. Technically unlocked but hovers slightly above and more often below 30fps. Often into mid 20's on X.
  • Pro runs slightly better than X in like comparisons, including during missions and combat.
  • Frame timing issues across both platforms.
  • 1080p output on pro alleviates some problems (40-50fps) but still no 30fps cap. "Hints" at 60fps ceiling in very minimalistic areas but isn't really relevant to overall gameplay.
  • Anthem offers an upgraded experience for PC users, to come in a later video.

Visuals:

- PS4 Pro: 2304x1296p
- Xbox X: 2560x1440p
- Base PS4: 1600x900p
- Base Xbox: 1280x720p

- General IQ on base consoles not exactly great.
- Base consoles have more dithered AO compared to mid-gens.
- Commentary on general jerkiness of animation compared to FFXV.
- Cut-scenes have motion blur but in-game there is no motion blur at all.

Performance:

- 2 options (Default and Stable)
- Default: Unlocked frame rate
- Stable: Locked 30 FPS with bad frame pacing
- Lack of motion blur and bad frame pacing makes it a 'severe' problem.
- All cut-scenes run at 30 FPS with motion blur but even they can show frame pacing issues.

- Base consoles: Default (unlocked) goes anywhere from 30 to 60 FPS depending on scene.
- In some very select scenes base Xbox One has better performance than both PS4 consoles
- XBX comes out with the best performance.
- However, on PS4 Pro if you set system to 1080p and disable super sampling, you get a massive improvement in performance.
- PS4 Pro @1080p performs better than Xbox X.

In conclusion, the PC is the best-looking version of Metro Exodus provided you have the hardware. However, in terms of performance, Xbox One X takes the lead over both the PC and PS4 Pro. So, overall, the Xbox One X version has a lot of good things going for it, so we recommend the Xbox One X platform for Metro Exodus for its stable frame rate, higher resolution than the PS4 Pro and a assets package that is closer to PC.

Worst of all, and this is what kept the game from reaching 80 or higher for me, is the performance. There's a few minor glitches that can occur during gameplay, but I've also seen no less than fifteen hard freezes, where I had to close the game and reload from the dashboard. Considering the load times to get back into the game can run up to four minutes: that's pretty bad.

DF изучила и сравнила Trials Rising:

И удивляются, что игра ваще вышла на Сыче, хоть и со всеми урезками.

It's apparently a miracle the game has even landed on the Switch at all. This port uses dynamic scaling in both portable and docked modes and mostly maintains a resolution of 720p. In contrast, the base PlayStation 4 runs the game at 1080p and the base Xbox One version runs at around 900p.

In terms of visual comparisons, it's not hard to tell the Switch is missing a lot of environmental details. Though, the most noticeable difference in the final version of the game is still on the first level containing a lot of fog. A lot of other levels remove shadows, but it's clear the adjustments to each track in this version of the game are done on a level-by-level basis, suggesting there's been a lot of effort just to get the game up and running on the system. Texture mapping and filtering are also toned down and there's no ambient occlusion.

In terms of performance, there are still frame pacing stutters while docked and the game seems to handle 30fps better in portable mode. Other platforms run the game at 60fps, with a few stutters along the way. Overall, though, the Switch release is still "a lot of fun to play" and the differences aren't a serious issue if this is the only version you own.

  • Using TAA, clean image quality
  • Good per object motion blur
  • Xbox one 900p 30fps cap bad frame pacing with noticible stutter and judder but can use 120hz mode which improves things.
  • PS4 1080p has Cleaner shadows compared to base X1, 30fps cap bad frame pacing with noticible stutter and judder
  • PRO 3200 x 1800 look like it uses uses reconstruction, uncapped framerate, unstable frame rate 38-48fps
  • X1X 3200 x 1800 looks a little cleaner. Has cleaner shaper shadows compared to the pro, uncapped framerate 38 - 42fps but has 120hz resulting in less frame variability and is the smoothest console in this mode
