Hi,
I would like to add some details so i can also get few tester by next week or so .
Hypervisor scanner , is focused on a single hypervisor lv1 call for now , which is very interesting to us , of course we left space with updates to upgrade the software in order to scan other lv1 calls we may find interesting too.
ETA is , we hope to get in alpha state by next week , this depends on everyone of the team and the time we have left to dedicate to the project , a client , not networked , already works and because it required too much time to use it we decided to read and understand how a distributed application works.
Most of the time was spend on documenting in order to make everything simple to the users and affordable in term of bandwidth for the users .
We estimated the traffic per users to be like 3kb every three hours.
ATM the client spawm an httpd server so you can access the basic configuration of it like IP , Status and Dmesg .
We kept in the 4mb NAND because we want something simple that can be configured in a step to install ( it's an otheros.bld ) .
Distribution is based on modified kernel 2.6.25 ( linux ) and openwrt to be low on usage of resources and keep all the threads and memory for the scanner.
There is no support for USB controllers and the configuration for wifi is still missing . Wifi is in the roadmap , USB controller and a UI to setup via tv too but it will take time , there is not ETA of that just to be clear.
Next week i'll make another comment to get some of you , who has interest in participate in the beta because we are still bug fixing the toy.
Another specific aspect is that distribution ranges to scan , we will need the ps3 client up and running for at least 3 hours which is the minimal time required to get a result or not, so if the idea is to let the ps3 run for 10 minutes or so , forget it it's a waste of time for both of us.
I would like also to thanks PS3News and CJ for the ideas and help , this project wouldn't be possible without their support.
Many said that in this website we don't give out lot of news of our development or we don't release . Point is , in my opinion , that release should mean something useful in term of code , scope and ideas which lead to something so don't expect me at least to publish videos or not usefull material in order to create hype for nothing.
