Batman: Arkham City AUS OPM Review 10/10

Official Playstation Magazine Australia have given their verdict on Batman: Arkham City. The game has been given a 10/10 and has been refered as being "one of the best games ever made".

"Batman: Arkham City is not only the best superhero game ever made, it's one of the best games ever made full-stop. It takes the already superlative original and gloriously expands on it. It's a deeper game, more complex, more inventive, more mature. It brings the caped crusader's world to life better than any comic, movie or television show before it."

"Presentation: Endlessly creative, perfectly moody, and technically flawless. This is Epic's Unreal engine pushed to its absolute limit."

"Sound: Alternatively foreboding and frantic, the game's orchestral soundtrack matches the on-sccreen action perfectly. Voice acting is brilliant."

"Controls: Complex and initially overwhelming but also logical and responsive. It'll take a while to get used to them, but once you do it feels perfectly natural flinging Batman around."

"Replay Value: Immense. A massive main quest, dozens of side missions, Riddler challenges, secondary game modes, and DLC will keep most people occupied for months."

RAGE
IGN (X360) - 8.5

That Rage is a visual marvel should be no surprise. id Software has consistently set new industry standards since the days of Wolfenstein 3D. Rage, built using id Tech 5 engine, is one of the best looking games ever made, boasting an incredible blend of artistry, animation and smooth performance. The amount of detail built into Rage is staggering.
7.5 Presentation
Incredibly high production values throughout. Storyline is weak, few memorable personalities, no satisfying ending, game starts to drag toward the end.
10 Graphics
One of the best looking games ever made.
8.5 Sound
Great gun sound effects and a high quality soundtrack and voice acting.
9.0 Gameplay
Excellent shooting sequences and a surprisingly good car combat mode.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
A lot of content in the single-player mode, plus co-op missions and a vehicle combat competitive multiplayer mode.

Я другого и не ждал. И ни капли не сомневался в ID и Кармаке. Мастерство не пропьешь.

Скоро паранойя по поводу проплаченных оценок видеоиграм, фильмам и т.д. захватит весь мир Конечно, такой ход имеет место быть в отношении различных продуктов. Но вот бросать подозрения на Бэтмэна, имхо, однозначно не стоит. Девяток с десятками не избежать никак, вот-вот скоро посыпятся

Сейчас просто балл за игру значительно вырос. Если раньше проходным проектам ставили 6, то сейчас им ставят 7.5-8. Десятка, по моему мнению, это небольшая революция в индустрии или новая GTA.

Просто я лично зачисляю Бэтмэна к той самой "маленькой революции" ) Игра по мотивам комикса/фильма про супергероя, которая так доставляет удовольствие, успешно сочетая в себе элементы стелса и экшна, да и сюжет не отдает банальщиной - большая редкость. А боевая система одна из лучших на моей памяти за всю историю существования игр подобного жанра. Поэтому я не удивлюсь, если новый Бэтмэн будет очень высоко оценен.

IGN Crysis - 8.0 (Great)

7.0 Presentation
Story failed to engage me on an emotional level, but it delivers the same sort of excitement as a Hollywood thriller. Sleek interface, though Crysis sports a fair number of glitches.
8.5 Graphics
While not as stunning as its PC counterpart, the downloadable version of Crysis looks fantastic, especially when viewed as a budget download.
8.5 Sound
Fitting action tunes bridged by plenty of suspense. Excellent sound effects, especially when it comes to the guns.
8.0 Gameplay
When Crysis' gunplay, suit powers, and destructible set pieces combined, I had a blast. But I was also frustrated by certain stealth components and the lack of an upgrade and scoring system.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
Open-ended design encourages experimentation and customization. A shooter worth playing multiple times. Too bad all the multiplayer got cut.

Dance Central 2 - 9.0 (Amazing)

8.0 Presentation
Colorful, stylish interface that uses the Kinect well, and supplements motion navigation with voice control. Silly but fun story.
8.0 Graphics
Nice character models, over-the-top venues, and enough color to funk-ify your eyeballs. I would have liked to see more environments, though.
9.0 Sound
Another fantastic list of tracks. You can import or purchase the original Dance Central playlist as well.
9.0 Gameplay
Fun routines for players of varying skill levels. A great multiplayer experience.
7.5 Lasting Appeal
Plowing through all the songs can be done in about five hours. But mastering the hard choreography, even on a single song, takes time. What you get out of Dance Central 2 depends on what you put in.
9.0 OVERALL Amazing

The game’s storybook setting makes navigating between mini-games a breeze. The characters are also imbued with a ton of personality, and the dialogue is snappy and will keep kids invested.

While not super detailed, the game still looks great, with brightly colored environments and accurate characters.

A great musical score and voice work outline the game’s fine audio.
8.5 Gameplay
The easy to learn controls won’t overwhelm the younger audience to which this game is geared, and the varied mini-games should keep their attention throughout.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
Clocking in at three hours, this is not a long game by any means. However, the mini-games boast some great replay value.
