The Final Fantasy XIII saga director, Motomu Toriyama is returning with a new project soon! That’s right! According to the Dengeki PlayStation’s 20th anniversary special interview, Toriyama is preparing to reveal a brand new title. Previously, he has worked on many Final Fantasy games as Director (Final Fantasy X-2), Event Planner (Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy X) and Scenario Planner. (Final Fantasy X) He has also worked on multiple non-Final Fantasy projects such as The 3rd Birthday and Front Mission Evolved, for example

“We’re currently preparing to reveal a brand new title” Toriyama reveals in the interview. No further information was shared but the reveal might be happening sooner than expected. Earlier, the president of Square Enix was teasing about a new project that will be revealed later this month. The Drakengard / Nier director is also preparing a new game announcement shortly and the SaGa series is getting its 25th anniversary game reveal soon. Could they all be working on the same game/project?

State of the Art Technology will Power Deus Ex Universe Projects

MontrÉal (December 4th, 2014) – Eidos-Montréal, the award-winning Square Enix studio behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution® and THIEF™, today announces the ‘Dawn Engine™’, their new, state of the art game engine that will be the cornerstone to the development of the Deus Ex Universe projects at the studio.

The Dawn Engine, based on a heavily modified version of IO Interactive’s Glacier™ 2 engine, features new technology that allows for improved rendering capabilities, real-time physics, and advanced artificial intelligence programming, among other things. An official screenshot from the Dawn Engine can be found [above].

“The technology behind any game is a key component in ensuring that gamers are able to develop both an emotional and visceral connection to what they are experiencing within the game world,” said David Anfossi, Studio Head at Eidos-Montréal. “We’ve worked tirelessly over the last few years developing this engine, building upon and improving both the visual and immersive artistry in our games. We truly believe that our engine will help us to strengthen both the gameplay and storytelling experiences we strive to create.”

  • Turbo Mode — Turbo Mode returns to the Devil May Cry series, with the game running 20% faster in this mode.
  • Hardcore Mode — Hardcore mode retains the experience of DmC, but with a throwback to the classic Devil May Cry games in terms of balance. In this mode, which can be toggled on all difficulty levels, the style system has been rebalanced to make ranking up much harder and ranks deteriorate much quicker. In addition, Devil Trigger doesn’t launch enemies into the air, parrying takes more skill, and all enemies hand out more damage.
  • Manual Target Lock — We’ve seen more requests for this than any other feature! The manual target lock works as closely to the classic Devil May Cry lock on as possible and has fully configurable controls.
  • Vergil Bloody Palace — Only second to Manual Target Lock in terms of the number of fan requests! This is a new Bloody Palace mode featuring 60 levels and Vergil as the playable character.
  • Must Style Mode — This is a hardcore modifier on an epic scale that can be played over any difficulty level. Players must be at an S rank or higher to deal any damage to enemies.
  • Gods Must Die Difficulty Mode — This is DmC Definitive Edition’s hardest difficulty mode. It takes DmC’s ridiculously hard Dante Must Die mode and adds a touch more punishment: All enemies spawn with Devil Trigger active and no items or health drops can be used.
  • Rebalanced and Retuned — We’ve studied fan feedback and made a whole host of tweaks and balance changes. The style system has been rebalanced, as have bosses. Exploits have been fixed in combat and some of Dante’s moves rebalanced, such as the Demon Evade. Gameplay tweaks have been made following hardcore player testing; frames have been removed from Kablooey shots, Parry/Evade windows adjusted, and collectibles, keys and doors redistributed.
  • Integration of Popular Community Mods — DmC Definitive Edition includes community mods such as an optional timer disable for Bloody Palace Mode, a triple dash for Angel Evade, and the ability to hit red and blue enemies with any weapon.
  • New Cutscene — an added cinematic scene that never made it into the original.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 (PS4, Xbox One, PC в 2016)
CI Games has announced Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, the next game in the popular shooter franchise coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in the first half of 2016.

Set during a modern day conflict in Eastern Europe, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 promises non-linear, sandbox-style gameplay that sees the player caught amidst a battle between three warring factions.


The game is being developed "from the ground up by an all-star development team", CI says, with former Sniper Elite producer Steve Hart brought on board to help develop the franchise's "first AAA production effort".

"The Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise is one of the most popular in the CI Games portfolio with over 5.5 million copies sold, so we're investing a significant amount of effort into the third installment," said CI CEO Marek Tyminski.

"We're fully committed to creating a AAA franchise that gamers can rely on for the ultimate first-person sniper experience."

Here's hoping the revised effort will help create a better title than the last game in the series, which Steve described as "a buggy shambles that makes shooting people's heads in from miles away boring".
