• Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – Developed by the famous Japanese studio Level-5, discover the enchanted Kingdom of Ding Dong Dell during gamescom and start with Evan on his journey with an exclusive playable demo.

• Project Cars 2 – The ultimate racing experience created by Slightly Mad Studios is coming to gamescom with a new playable version, daily tournaments and on-stage activities. Stay tuned for the full calendar and list of activities that will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

• Little Nightmares – After a successful announcement last year during gamescom, the acclaimed Little Nightmares is back this year. Players will be able to test their childhood fears and help “Six” to escape The Maw.

• Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker – The latest addition to the popular Naruto game franchise that features beloved Naruto characters and teams from the series, including Team 7 among which Naruto and Sasuke will be playable for the first time in intense 4 vs 4 battles with all eight ninjas fighting simultaneously.

On Wednesday 23rd August at 15:00 CEST, fans can get a fresh look at Super Mario Odysseygameplay with a special developer talk from producer Yoshiaki Koizumi ahead of the game’s launch on 27th October. The Metro Kingdom and Sand Kingdom from Mario’s upcoming adventure will also be playable on the showfloor for attendees.

Then on Thursday 24th August at 12:00 midday CEST, Metroid: Samus Returns enters the limelight, with producer Yoshio Sakamoto and José Luis Márquez, creative director of developer Mercury Steam, taking to the stage to discuss Samus Aran’s upcoming adventure on Nintendo 3DS. Launching alongside the game on 15thSeptember is a special orange New Nintendo 3DS XL Samus Edition, decked out with artwork of the intergalactic bounty hunter herself.

On top of these developer presentations, live shows featuring product experts from Nintendo of Europe will also give detailed looks at already announced software titles for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS, including Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and more. The full schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

All these English-language livestreams can be watched on Nintendo’s of Europe’s YouTube channelor on the Nintendo of Europe website.

Visitors to Nintendo’s booth in Hall 9 will be able to get their hands on a range of software for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS. Super Mario Odyssey, Pokkén Tournament DX, Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario + Rabbids® Kingdom Battle, plus the recently released ARMS and Splatoon 2 will all be playable on Nintendo Switch, alongside Nintendo 3DS titles Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions, Monster Hunter Stories™, and Europe’s first consumer hands-on for Samus Aran’s anticipated adventure, Metroid: Samus Returns.

According to Digital Foundry, the game runs at a solid 30fps in handheld mode, outclassing the performance seen on last-gen systems, like the PS3 and Xbox 360:

On the handheld screen, the title looked like it was rendering at native 720p, and while graphics comparisons aren't really viable on the showfloor - especially on mobile screens - the Switch version of Skyrim delivered an accomplished mobile experience. It's the consistency in performance that's really impressive, especially compared to the last-gen versions of the game. The wobbly frame-rates with hitching and stuttering during traversal and combat simply aren't an issue on Switch: that 30 frames per second is as close to locked as you're going to get.
